Central to this mission is a comprehensive and highly integrated Plan of Care for each Senior LIFE member, executed by an interdisciplinary team and extending across medical, social, emotional, physical, and therapeutic needs. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will aid in the successful development and execution of the occupational therapy plan, assisting the occupational therapist resident(s) in their daily member care duties throughout the facility.

Senior LIFE is an innovative program that uses a team approach to provide seniors with medical, social, nutritional and rehabilitation services. These services are provided at the Senior LIFE Center and are accompanied with in-home nursing care, personal care, and other homecare services as needed. Senior LIFE makes it possible for seniors to remain at home, enjoying the comfort and reassurance of familiar surroundings while receiving the care they need.
Senior LIFE is a Medicare Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) operating as a LIFE (Living Independence for the Elderly) program in the state of Pennsylvania.
COTA must be fully licensed in Pennsylvania, and be committed to participating in the educational training and workshops required for license retention. Because of the nature of Senior LIFE centers and the diverse needs of its members, responsibilities are wide-reaching and enable assistants to gain unparalleled experience in all aspects of OT-related elderly care, including:
COTAs will be key to ensuring members’ success because of their direct work with those members as well as from the in-depth, high-value responsibilities tied to training and effectively communicating critical information with Senior LIFE and external caregivers. This role will be on the frontline of ensuring member success, and requires an articulate, dedicated, hardworking, and caring individual, who is passionate about helping the elderly. Besides proper certification, COTA applicants must have at least one year of experience working with this population, with the ability to demonstrate strong working knowledge during the interview process. A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license is also required.
