Seniors at Home, one of the leading providers of innovative, versatile home health care, seeks a hands-on Day Room Member Assistant  for an entry-level position with significant growth potential. This role requires significant direct work/contact with frail patients, so patience, compassion and flexibility are essential.

The Day Room Member Assistant plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, personalized care to our Seniors. This position is based on-site at our Johnstown location, where you’ll provide one-on-one support in our Day Room setting. There is no travel with this position.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct, individualized care in a structured day program environment
  • Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene
  • Supporting therapeutic exercises and activities as guided by on-site physical, occupational, and speech therapists
  • Administering medications under the supervision of an on-site Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Observing and reporting changes in patients’ conditions to RNs or therapists
  • Promoting a safe and supportive environment, reporting any potential safety concerns
  • Accurately documenting patient care and activity as required
  • Performing additional duties based on individual care plans or team direction

Skills

  • Strong ability to assist with personal care tasks while respecting client dignity and privacy.
  • Familiarity with home care systems and medical terminology is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPR techniques and first aid procedures is beneficial.
  • Experience in assisted living or home health environments is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to lift clients safely and perform physical tasks associated with caregiving.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage time effectively while providing care.
