The Physical Therapist Assistant will work closely with members and with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest level of care and coordination, enabling participants to maximize their own independence and ensure increased qualities of life. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

 

  • Assisting the resident Physical Therapist in all aspects of member therapy and care plan needs
  • Providing interventions based on member-specific needs, including therapeutic exercise, gait training, ambulation and other physical assistance
  • Monitoring and documenting member treatments and interventions, ensuring all members of interdisciplinary teams have access to this vital information
  • Updating Plans of Care based on member progress and evolving needs
  • Identifying areas for individual and group improvements and enhancements, and implementing new procedures and processes under the supervision of the Physical Therapist
  • Developing group exercise programs for maintenance therapy members
  • Aiding in in-home treatment programs, including goal setting and exercise, plus family and caregiver education
  • Ensuring complete compliance with all Senior LIFE, state and federal regulations and best practices
  • Assessing member progress both in centers and in-home, and determining comprehensive courses of action to improve outcomes or maintain success

This role is highly hands-on and requires a patient, hardworking and dedicated professional, with a strong desire to help the LIFE Center’s members maintain their independence and quality of life. All candidates must be licensed Physical Therapy Assistants in Pennsylvania, and be committed to the coursework/workshops required to maintain licensing. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year’s experience working in a PTA role, specifically in an elderly/geriatric capacity that would ensure a high level of clinical competency. A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license is also required to be considered for this position.
